Found 2 "new" (old) Chanel fragrances

I've just found in an old Chanel catalog 2 other fragrances I've never heard before: Rose and Ambre. Nothing else about their first release or composition.

Also in the same catalog are mentioned other very rare Chanel: No 11, 14, 20 and 21. Are they related to the legend of Beaux samples?..... NO IDEA...

Voeux de Noel

It's not the famous Caron perfume I'm thinking about but the wishes I have for this special day.

1. I wish I could smell the other samples Beaux submitted to Chanel. In fact, if this story is true, it would be a very interesting experience to sample N1,2,3,4 and 20,21,23,24. If there are any records in Chanel archive this might be a very succesful exhibition. To understand one succes one must know its roots... :)

2. I wish to have the GivaudanOdor Map and study its relations.

3. I wish to sample some old Givaudan bases composed by Reboul: Anthuria, Daphné, Lilas VII, Melittis, Muguet 16, Sophora.

4. I wish to read the "sketch book" of Edmond Roudnitska and understand the evolution of some of his fragrances.

new book about smell & Luca Turin article

I've just discovered the presentation of this scentsational book: The Smell Culture Reader by Jim Drobnick! It will appear perhaps in may. Can't wait to read it.
Also from Berg, there will be a pioneering journal, Sensory Formations, edited by David Howes.
