Sous le Vent - Guerlain

I've just read on Bois de Jasmin that Guerlain will release soon this masterpiece. In fact, while visiting the Guerlain parisian store in November I was told that their vintage fragrance for 2006 might probably be that one.
Sous le Vent was named after some islands around Reunion, the source of beautiful ylang-ylang and vanilla essences used in all Guerlain fragrances. This chypre is rather austere and dry with vanilla and amber without beeing sweet, sticky or creamy. It has some exquisite powderiness ( not the cosmetic one) but that suggested by a delicate granulated sand. It has some Amber83 and a little indolic nuance. I hope to analyse it soon on my skin and give a detailed review.

I can't wait to read your review of this perfume. Chypre perfumes always inspire me.

This is the best blog on making perfume I've found! I just started my own perfume site but it is more general in nature.

Oh, I would love to read your perceptions of how the new re-release Sous le Vent compares to the older verison, that would be marvelous! Can't wait.
