Eau hegemonienne was created around 1890 by Aime Guerlain and was dedicated to the international alliances between the great powers. It is a delicious eau de cologne, very aromatic and much more complex than Eau de Cologne Imperiale. You may feel all the Provence notes in that Cologne, not very citrus but more herbal. Lavande, thym, artemisia, all the herbs o the provensal kitchen tradition are to be found here without any sweet or ambery note. Smelling Sous le Vent one might find its roots in that very simple and natural fragrance dating from the last years of the 19th century.
