Behind the forbidden doors of the perfume industry, tough negotiations take place these days and the following weeks. A new Versailles scented treaty for EU? Remember, in only 8 months, FRAGRANCE will be the epitaph for FRANCE (July 2013).
It's on everybody's lips in FASHION... Will the future SHOW take place in the glorious GRAND PALAIS in PARIS or it will be in a COUTURE SALON in 2013? Since the scandal EU BAN on CHANEL 5, the company is short on money. Brad PITT was hired for many millions for the most expensive funeral ceremony of a perfume through an ad. Poetic, but a true and inevitable story. Chanel image? MONASTIC ... Versailles frou-frou is passé when No5's image has gone forever. Remember ... there is NO CHANEL image inside the New York perfume exhibition starting on November 20 at MAD.
Back to the roots of success, when No5 was not making the money on 5th avenue, back to CAPEL....
90 years ago, Ernest BEAUX had to leave Russia because of the Revolution leaving behind an empire of perfumes, while COCO build an empire based on a formula imagined once for the tsars. She made luxury available to every woman, but today Socialist France doesn't like luxury..
DailyMail has a long and intriguing story about the Death of the most famous perfume, now a victim to its own mega success.
Roja DOVE says for Daily Mail:
"As an industry, we are very responsible. We would never want to use ingredients that were scientifically proven to be a major problem, but I do believe consumers should have freedom of choice. There are scents around that people have loved for centuries, so is it right to do away with them entirely? I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions."
But that's precisely the No5 problem. If you show the "dangerous" ingredients to consumers adopting a transparency policy, people will stop buying CHANEL. They will fear the 100 allergens. If you CHANGE Chanel and show it on the bottle according to the new ETHIC policy in EU, they will notice that No5 is Not the Original CHANEL and CHANEL will be unable to celebrate the 100th anniversary. Can you celebrate 100 years of something which has nothing to do with the 1921 Perfume? Luxury means authenticity and in 2012 CHANEL faces the biggest challenge.
No NO5, No perfumes, No cosmetics, No CHANEL because the amazing work of french artisans is highly expensive.
But is the most coveted perfume LUX or ILLUSION inside the mirrored walls from 31 rue Cambon?
"A bottle is sold every 30 seconds", judge for yourself if the exclusive aura of CHANEL is real of manufactured ....

EU says NO SVOBODA for CHANEL.
The original No5 perfume formula belongs to Rallet, it was imagined in MOSCOW. In the conference I gave in Paris about the history of Russian perfumes I showed and explained the perfumes of the lost empire. After the Soviet Revolution, Rallet became the factory No.7 and later changed its name to SVOBODA (Freedom). No.5 was the other factory who produced many beautiful perfumes I own.
Today, the history changes. Chanel is now "enchained" by EU and is gradually loosing the freedom needed to produce the gigantic fashion shows. No5 is the foundation stone of the house. Slave in the West, glory in the East (slava means "glory" in Slavic languages).
"One wonders what Coco Chanel herself would have thought of being told by EU scientists that her beloved fragrance had to be updated before it had even reached its 100th birthday." (Dailymail).
During WWII, when the Jewish family who owns the perfumes moved to US because of the new regime in France, COCO made a new and improved version of her beloved fragrances in Switzerland. I'm sure today she would do the same to the family who runs the Swiss business of CHANEL. Every empire ends when a new one is born.
