I wish to express my thanks to MADONNA for being the flame behind her perfume when she took the right decision about the nature of her first creation - "Truth or Dare" produced by COTY. It was in ROMANIA when she was for the first time in concert, 3 years ago - AUGUST 2009. At Versailles, I made and blended a perfume for a longtime friend the previous year - sur-mesure. It was called ENDLESS 26K GOLD and was my homage to Germaine. My perfume was based on the original Fracas, with all the forbidden and expensive ingredients that are not allowed in the modern commercial version. Because it was sold in ROMANIA I decided to follow my rules and not those I was fighting against on this blog in Paris - the French crusade. My perfume, in a blue cobalt bottle with golden letters, like the representation of Madonna in classic paintings, but without a direct visual clue and nothing pretentious, was sold only in one place in Bucharest, IDELIER run by a Romanian fashion designer. Several very expensive bottles, with true gold inside, true perfume. It was a gift at the right moment for The ONE who loved the original Fracas. Sometime you need to smell the missing ingredient to be inspired. Few know that W.E. (a twin like ME) loved the original tuberose from the 1940's....
I wish to express my gratitude to MADONNA who decided to turn a masterpiece and my humble homage sold in Bucharest in an imperfect bottle (it leaked) into a commercial success in a white bottle which has the octagonal shape of my logo.
From an aesthetic point of view, "Truth or Dare", now sold everywhere, is not a groundbreaking perfume, but it brings the light and the quality to the public. It educates the tastes of the masses. It is exquisite, but is only the reflection of the original perfume with gold. Those who use today Truth or Dare will discover tomorrow more artistic perfumes, as Madonna did with her music since she met her chance in 1978. The mirror from the ad says ... WE :)
