In 1912, Gabrielle Chanel met the "devil". She designed the hats for "Le diable ermite" at Théâtre Athenée, a production written by Lucien Besnard in 1909. In november 1912 she designed the hats for Gabrielle Dorziat, Alice Nory and Andrée Barelly. At that time, her salon was at 21, rue Cambon. 5 days before the show...
Gabrielle was known in Paris, but not yet a star. Her success was about to come several years later.
What perfume did she wear for the première?
Gabrielle put on her neck several drops of Quelques Fleurs, the creation is no more available today. 8 years later, COCO was a different woman and started to think about her perfume. 10 years later she launched 22, 30 years later the diamond jewels, celebrated this year in Paris with an amazing collection. (I accept the COSMOS watch comme une indulgence).
Time was different in 1912.... Einstein, Bergson, Proust .... But the common link between 1912 and 2012 is a molecule which gives a new trend and has special properties.
